Margaret Nichols grew up in New Orleans with a passion for great food. Her first job was working as a hostess-helper for a catering company, after which she waitressed for a New Orleans seafood restaurant. Upon graduating from Louisiana State University, Margaret moved to Boston where she worked in corporate banking.
Driven by her dream to be in the food business, Margaret completed the Professional Chef’s program at Cambridge School of Culinary Arts in 1996. She worked in catering sales and management before starting La Fête Catering in 1999 with Kevin Carter.
Rhode Island native, Kevin Carter, began his career in the food business managing two Boston hotel restaurants before following his heart into the kitchen. He trained in some of Boston’s best kitchens, including Michela’s with Jody Adams, Rialto, and A Mano Catering. He is a graduate of Northeastern University.
Kevin and Margaret married in 2001 and have two sons—Tate and Jack. They have three rescue dogs and enjoy spending time at their kids’ sporting events, eating great food, and gathering with family and friends in Charleston, South Carolina.
As business owners in Natick for more than 17 years, Margaret and Kevin are proud to be a part of the Natick community.
